Tell me about the biggest thinker you know.  Is it a teacher, friend, colleague, volunteer, or community leader?  What big thing has he or she done, created, or tried that makes them like Pinky Dinky Doo?  If your nominee is selected, our Dream Big pillow (valued at $100.00), along with a copy of your nomination, will be delivered to their doorstep in time for the holidays.

Very awesome Claudia! You're the biggest thinker I know!! You are the Pied Pipper of creativeness with all the different types of people you surround yourself with. It's that infectious smile with the little laugh!! You win my vote!

I love that pillow! Judy is awesome. And I love the first one is going to Amy. Her personality is... what's the word... she just makes you feel good. Happy. I don't know what the word is but yay Amy!

I second Peggy- Claudia you are the biggest thinker I know! Seriously! But, in the spirit of today let me see if I can come up with a cousin of yours. I'll be back!

I know I said that last week and didn't come back but I promise I will today!

I'm not sure if it is a good thing but I feel like I have to submit that the person I know who thinks big, dreams big and doesn't care what others think is my three year old Lily.
Perhaps she hasn't had the chance to be jaded by conventionalism or perhaps she is just a free and creative thinker but sometimes she astounds me. Whether her creative flair for fashion, or imaginative play, or her kind heart as she draws pictures for a friend in the hospital she really does think big.
I'd like to hope that I can continue to foster her creative energy and not cause her to bottle it up out of fear of failure, or being bullied, or whatever else causes adults to conform. Maybe a Dream Big pillow is just what we need in our house as a reminder that it is okay to Dream Big and forget what others think...because in her words, "that's awesome!"

I am so blessed to have such good friends in my life. Sometimes I have to pinch myself. However, I do believe that everyone comes into your life for a reason and 18 years ago I was lucky enough to cross paths with my dear friend Marianne. We were roommates for 3 years and had a lot of fun together but more than fun was the journey she has taken me on. She helped me look at myself from a different angle and still helps me do that to this day. She is a thinker...one of the biggest thinkers I know. Marianne encourages those around her to be thinkers as well. She dreams big and needs a soft place to land when the dreams don't go quite as planned. What better place than a Dream Big pillow . A dream that has been several years in the making for her is about to come to life. I know for a fact that a soft place to land along this journey would have been welcomed with open arms. However, knowing her the way I do, she will continue to need that soft place because she will continue to dream big and think big until the day she passes on. Please consider my big thinker, dream big, dear friend as a recipient for the awesome pillow!

So far so good. Am I thinking too big to think we could have 20 names submitted today?

Who do you know that you could pass today's post along to? Spread the word. Today's post is a tribute to all the big thinkers we know out there.

Amen to Claudia's nomination!  But in the spirit of the post, I'll talk about some other big dreamers in my life:

Like Heather's daught Lilly, my daughter Owen is a big thinker.  She's constantly leaving me notes to say she loves me or to remind me to have a great day.  She's kind to her sisters and loves to do extra projects at school.  Her dress is creative and she loves to show others how they can change small things to have an easier life (clipping your lunch box to your back pack to free your hand to hold a sibling's hand to get on the bus as an example).  She designs experiments and inventions constantly.  Sometimes things I think are small piles of trash are really machines to do something.

My friend Teri is also a big thinker.  She's working hard to bring positive pregnancy education to every continent.  She's designed her own program, she's traveled around the world to bring her program to women every where.  This has impacted women's lives in lots of places, including China, Romania, Korea, India, etc.  Her goal is to have women able to make chioces that are empowering for their births and helping inspire them to be confident parents.

I have some more big dreamers but have to go give my presentation at school now...

Okay- I've put a lot of thought into this today and I kept coming back to one person... Elizabeth St. Hilaire - Nelson. I've never met Elizabeth. We only know each other through the wonderful invention of the Internet. I fell in love with artwork and even purchased a piece. If only I had unlimited supplies of cash and I would own more. So, that's our background... Why does she deserve the Dream Big pillow? Well, her artwork is amazing. She teaches her technique to countless others through workshops. Elizabeth also plays the violin in an orchestra and runs triathlons. Most recently her good friend Cherie was in a horrible accident that left her severly injured. Elizabeth first had everyone just send Get Well Cards to lift her friends spirits. Now that Cherie is progressing, Cherie's siblings have quit their jobs to help her, Elizabeth is on a full fledge mission to help her friend financially. Elizabeth's Dream's Big and Goes Big!

ok I've tried 3 times to submit and my computer keeps shutting down! I'll try to be quick! Claudia, if you won't accept a nomination for yourself - because you are truly the biggest, bestest Pinky Dinky Doo Dream Big person I know....then I will nominate my girlfriend Brenda in LA. We met during our master's program in LA and she truly Dreams Big. She encourages others through creative problem solving and without knowing it helps resolve dramas that are off stage - as well as on. She is now in design school and creates dresses out of cardboard and zippers, she uses recycled materials to create fabulous designs and encourages this creative Dream Big philosphy with her daughter Issy who attends an arts magnate school in orange county, ca. Brenda Dreams Big for herself, but in others too!
Be the CHANGE you wish to see in the world! :)

I am always a day late...

I would nominate my dad. He was a high school math teacher for 35+ years. In fact, he retired 6 years ago but continues to teach one to two classes a semester at the high school because he loves it so much. He was always thinking big and expecting the most from his students. He was one of those teachers who was always going above and beyond for the students (and I should know...he was my teacher for 2 years in HS). He advised student council for most of his years teaching, advised Key Club, and always worked sporting events, drove buses when needed and did pretty much anything the school needed him to do. He continues to be a national adviser for Key Club International and works every day to develop leaders among our high school students, teaching them to lead with dignity and to give back to the community.

He's awesome.
