The Yellow Envelope Project is an initiative unique to the House of Shine. It is our counter-message to the negative news dominating newspapers, news channels, and radio stations. Participating only costs the price of a postage stamp and it is sure to make someone’s day.
The Yellow Envelope Project is a program specializing in the recognition of every day citizens who are working hard to make a difference in their corner of the world. Selection of Yellow Envelope Project honorees is reserved for those who work hard, but who otherwise would receive no recognition. This is your postman, your neighbor, your day care provider, a teacher, a classroom mom, the barista at your local coffee shop, or the coach who spends hours with your child. They are hard working people whose work makes the world a brighter place.
Each week we will flood the mailbox of one lucky recipient with sunshine!
There are three ways for you to get involved in our Yellow Envelope Project:
1 Mail a yellow envelope to one of our YEP recipients:Mail a yellow envelope to one of our YEP recipients: Weekly we post the first name of that week’s recipient, his/her address, and a short description of what makes him/her deserve our award. Mail that week’s recipient a short note in a yellow envelope (or a white envelope decorated with yellow markers and stickers). Their mailbox will be chock full of yellow envelopes, and you will feel great about telling someone they shine!
