There is no better way to kick off a few days of celebration than with the House of Shine's tried and true ritual, High-Low-Aha.

Typically we share our high (best thing that happened), low (worst thing that happened), and aha (something we learned) from the past month.

Today I think we'll open it up and invite people to share their highs, lows, and ahas since last February 18.

I'll start and then you join me in the Comment Section to share yours:

High: As corny as it sounds, my high is how full the last year was with big and small things to be grateful for. Things like: feeling personally fullfilled with the work I am doing, happy and healthy kids, a successful and loving husband, loving where I live and all the friends who surround me. I am also pretty excited I finally got my CKB Group website finished.

Low: Low has to be the number of people around me who are aging, getting sick, and even dying. It is a sober reminder of how fleeting life is and how important it is to engineer life in such a way that you have no regrets. Second to that were a few disappointments and some relationships gone awry.

Aha: I've read a lot in the past year, so my mind is constantly swirling with new insights and things to ponder. But, I think my biggest growth came this summer while standing on the deck of my House of Shine, in Key Largo Florida. I was soaking in the sun, but feeling emotionally depleted from caring so much and never feeling like my "work" was done. A sudden peace washed over me and I realized - really realized - that my contribution to the world, no matter how big or small, is enough.
