Slow Down

Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday I enjoyed an unexpected trip to Louisville.

We returned home last Sunday, forty-five minutes before an out of town guest arrived on my doorstep.

House guest left on Tuesday afternoon in just enough time for me to pack my bags and get the boys organized.

I departed Wednesday, mid-morning, in order to conduct a training session in Las Vegas on Thursday morning.

Left Las Vegas forty-five minutes after training session ended and jumped on a plane back to Dallas.

8:45 p.m. Thursday night, arrived back home.

Friday morning put finishing touches on training session that began at noon.

5:00 p.m. training session ended and another week is put to rest.

One hundred sixty eight hours in a week and not one post to the House of Shine.

Or trip to the gym

Or thank you note written

Or phone call returned

Or plan made for the upcoming week.

Proof positive that it is impossible to Shine when you are living life at break neck speed.

Slow down.

Shine more.

I was sad that there were no blog posts last week, because the prior week you teased us with so much SH!NE goodness!

It's good to know you weren't just sitting on your butt eating bon bons and watching Oprah....

My hubby is in your Great State of Texas enjoying your fall warmth, he's in Houston until Wednesday! ♥

I was thinking about you all weekend but didn't make it your direction.

I thought about throwing up a quick post on the 18th to do our HLA's but work got busy and I didn't get it done.

    I had a frenching good month! :)

    And, And!

Are you enjoying all these training sessions because I'm just thinking about all the lives of people that you are influencing with your greatness and wisdom- they don't know how lucky they are so I don't know if it feels like you're shining or not but I'm going to step out and say that you ARE!

    Miss you, my friend!

You may not have felt very shiny but here are a few examples of how you shined:

-While in Louisville you took MY family portrait with you to have it framed and carved out a small window to meet with your favorite photo framer

-While back in town you found time to coordinate a birthday surprise for our children's teacher and made her day (and the kids' day too as they were equally excited)!

-When you arrived back from Las Vegas you made Lily feel so special as we drove to your house just by taking an active interest in her.

And those are just ways you impacted my world with SHINE...I can't imagine how many other ways you shined over the last week.

All this to say...there is always time to SHINE!

Wow, thanks Heather. That felt good.

And of course you know all of that because:

    1. You offered to pick me up from the airport and
    2. You helped me coordinate the birthday surprise!

Shiny birds of a feather flock together.
