If yesterday's post was about focusing on your dream until, literally, it starts manifesting in a way that is happening for me and the House of Shine, then today's post is about faith.
About a month ago a student, Michael, pulled me aside during leadership training and asked how I came up with an idea for a blog post six days a week. Daunted by the idea of it himself, he followed up by saying, "Surely you can't go on forever. Aren't you afraid you'll run out of ideas?"
The answer is truthfully, not anymore.
There was a time when I plotted out six or eight weeks worth of blog posts at a time. And, there was a time when, without the help of things such as zany holidays from the Brownielocks.com website, Fancy Flours Cookie Cutter Challenges, Target Turnarounds, and Super Bowl throw downs, I would have worried about writing 312 posts a year.
Nine hundred thirty four posts into it, I am finally acquiring faith that the next idea will come. It's not blind faith though, as I have sharpened my tools along the way. First I honed my topic - interestingly enough, making it more specific, and some might argue, even more narrow. Second, I acquired lenses that now allow me to see elements of Shine in so much of the world around me.
I have come to realize that with hard work and faith, there is no reason to worry.
The same is true for you.
You might have no idea where the inspiration for your next piece of art will come from; the people for your next event; the client for your next business venture; or even the recipe for your next meal, but as is the case with me, there is no need to worry.
Instead or worrying, rely on your ability to work hard. Trust that, if you keep moving forward, the next step will always present itself.
And it will.
Shining off until tomorrow - the eve of our three-year anniversary.
