Here's a question for you about shining.
Is it possible what you don't posses in sheer talent you can make up for with good old-fashioned hard work?
I like to think, "Yes."
I could feel things going south on Monday, while decorating my tragic armadillo cookies for the Fancy Flour Cookie Cutter Challenge. Tuesday's cookie cutter reveal proved just how south the whole thing went (though your subsequent stories and video clips were hilarious and saved the day!).
In an attempt to make myself feel better, I ordered the two other cookie cutters that were in the running for last month's competition - Next Day Air. The English Sheep Dog and the Dollar Sign arrived on my door step yesterday afternoon. I figured, if August's Challenge is going to be a bust and and my cookies aren't going to shine, then at least I want to go down working hard.
Round Two.
English Sheep Dogs.

The cookies are wrapped in cellophane bags and then packaged in an empty box of dog bones. Today I will deliver them to a colleague on campus who is true dog lover. I call this preposterous package, "Dog Treats."

Money Sign.

I packaged the cookie in a money bag I made with material.
I have titled this package, "The Gift of Dough."

I will let you decide for yourself whether Round Two is any better than Round One.
Here is what I've decided. The cookies might not shine any more than the armadillos and the packaging might not be any more clever than my Road Kill, but I worked hard at keeping up my end of the bargain. That makes failure a less bitter pill to swallow.
Shining off until tomorrow...
